SC-1:  Fall 1942 - February 1944

In the fall of 1942, as Texas returned to Norfolk following a convoy run, the CXAM-1 was removed to be placed aboard a cruiser and in its place was installed a Model SC-1, a new improved air search radar built by General Electric. SC-1 was removed during the 23 January to 25 February period in the Boston Navy Yard.
