Christmas 1941 - TEXAS documents
Going to dry-dock - 7 Nov 2001 Proposition 8 passed which specifically allocates $12.5 million for dry-dock and berth improvements. The fiscal year in which the money will be available was not specific but will be in FY 2002 or 2003 or 2004.

Armament by Time period - broke the single 1913 to 1925 period into 7 periods. Enough data was at hand to make the break outs.
Mascot Maggie - article in 12 Dec 1931 BB35 newspaper "The TEXAS Steer" about Maggie birthing in the Brig
Coffee - rescanned the 15 Nov 1930 article. Better clarity.

19 - Berthing: Highlighted deck plans and text where BB35 personnel were berthed (from Flag Bridge down to 3rd Deck)
23- Wardroom Officer's Staterooms - A 1912 detailed furnishings plan, in GIF, which was made from an AutoCAD of the drawing. The 1912 drawing was found on microfilm by Tom Scott. He printed and scanned the drawing. When the drawing was microfilmed (late 1940s - early 1950s), the clarity of the text and many objects was poor. In addition the scan file size is to large for Internet transfer.
23 - SOC3 airplane was aboard not later then 2 Feb 1940. SOC3 is clearly aboard in a 2 Feb 1940 photo of TEXAS entering Havana. The photo is in the BB35 book by "Classic Warships". When the plane came aboard is not known. William Larkin states no airplanes (of any type) were aboard, in June 1939.

30 - A complete reorganization of the file structure has been completed. The amount and variety of data on the site finally made adding new data to difficult. The new structure will allow for more growth
31 - Added extensive thumbnail size images through out the site. Add numerous frames with related links in the narrow header at the top
Fuel storage capacity - calculation from to determine cubic footage of coal and oil and the changes after the 1925-26 modernization. Over 110,000 cubic feet below 3rd was converted into fuel oil storage

Drawings with details - drawings of compartment interior layouts, drawings of specific machinery, specific frame segments. Separated from another section. Some new drawings added. Some large drawings removed 1944 drawings - separated from another section Changes 1910 to Today - changed illustrated deck drawings. Adding additional text to identify changes between 1927 - 1944, with references to locations on 1931 and 1937 deck drawings. Navigation Bridge - additional text and illustrations added. Main Deck - the format for other deck comparisons. |

Layout - changed page backgrounds and the layouts of many pages Medals - inclusion of ribbon board made by an Eagle Scout (unfortunately I do not remember his name. Included a scan copy of each individual ribbon with the text of each award Photos - inclusion of 1918 photos, which were provided by Ed Somers. Mr Somers grandfather served aboard TEXAS in World War One. The photos are the best TEXAS photos of this time that I have ever seen. The exterior profile photo is especially excellent. |
