July 1935

Source: USN Fuel Allowance Table - July 1935
  • GPH= Gal per hour
  • Column right of GPH are my calculations from Knots, RPM and GPH, plus know distance at 10knots of speed
  • NM = nautical mile
  • PLACE = among the 15 battleships, by rate of speed for gals consumed per hour
  • Sailing Distance - assuming 1,150,000 gals of useable fuel.  Two different sources list distances of 15,000 knots and 15,400 knots at 10knots per hour.  With known gals per hour consumed at 10knots, the total gals consumed could be derived.
