- Nov 1926: photos
- Oct 1932: "Popular Science Monthly" - Oct 1932 ship model shows two 50cals on the aft area of the Flag Bridge. Could have been aboard earlier.
- Jul 1935:
- 14inch guns were changed from Mark I Mod VII to Mark VIII and Mark X, Main Battery Guns of Battleship Texas (BB-35) Compiled by Christopher C. Wright, Editor, Warship International
- 50cal machine gun: drawings and photos
- Oct 1941: "Conference Arrival Report", 9 Sep 1941, page 29 and 80
- May 1942:
- 5inch guns: 5 - July 1942 photo in Classic Warships publication on BB35 showing no 5inch guns on 2nd deck. A late 1941 photo shows 10 and possibly 14 5inch guns. In 1942, periods of Mar - May were the only times TEXAS was in a US Navy yard where the removal could have been done
- 20mm guns: The above photo also shows the 20mm guns. The Leeward Publication BB35 booklet lists the guns being aboard on 7 Dec 1941 but only 395 such guns had been made and with TEXAS being in Maine and Newfoundland in Dec 1941 it does not seem likely the guns would have been aboard at that time.
- Aug 1942: 6 - Aug 1942 BB35 letters concerning 20mm clipping rooms with an entry that 24 20mm guns are being installed, in August.
- Jun 1943:
- 40mm - Deck Log
- 20mm - 8 July 1943 ltr, BB35 to BuShips, serial number 071543 40104
- Oct 1944:
- 14inch gun: Deck Log references a gun change out but not the type. BB35 came to TEXAS with Mark XII. Does not seem reasonable that the USN would have changed out the guns after the war and prior to bringing the ship to Texas.
- 20mm: Dated Nov 1944 photos show the guns and the ship painted measure 33 which was applied during a 15 Sept - 15 Oct period in New York Navy Yard..
- Late 1945: 40mm: Are present in 27 Oct 1945 photo but not in the 3 February 1946 crossing of the Panama Canal.
- Mar 1948: photos and 1948 inventory
