ARMAMENT

October 1944 to December 1944/January 1945

Changed September - October 1944 - New York Navy Yard.  20mm - photos.  14 replaced: NY Times photo and article with removed gun towed up 5th Ave to 6th War Bond drive site.  Mark XII being present arriving in Texas in 1948 (per 1 April 1948 inventory by Naval Ordnance Bureau).  I dispute the claim of the Mark 1 being installed for the gun was not designed for the larger powder bag (94 lbs vs 105lbs).  Also it makes no sense changing Mark 1 for Mark 12 before bringing the ship to Texas.
